Concession Workday Saturday, 8/24, 8 am-12 noon

Band boosters have scheduled an additional workday on the concession stand for this Saturday, August 24th, beginning at 8 am. Your assistance would be appreciated!

After School Practice Dismissal 9/3 and 9/5

After-school marching band practice will be dismissed at 4:30 on Tuesday and Thursday, September 3rd and 5th, to allow for beginner band instrument nights to begin at 5:00 pm. Current band boosters are encouraged to attend instrument night, introduce yourselves to incoming band parents, and welcome them into the band booster program.

Letter Jackets Tuesday, August 27th

A representative from Neff will be in the band room on Tuesday, August 27th at 3:00 pm to make a presentation on letter jackets for band. All marching band and auxiliary members should report to the band room at 3:00 pm Tuesday and will then be dismissed for after school practice after the presentation is complete.

Morning Band Room Schedule

Dr. Sargent has lunchroom duty on the mornings of the following weeks:

During these weeks, the band room will remain closed until 8:00 am. Students should store instruments in the conference room (MJHS) or in the room adjacent to Mrs. Boyd's room (MHS). During all other weeks of the school year, all band students are welcome to practice, play passoffs, and participate in warm-up classes (when time allows), beginning at 7:30 each day. Only current band members may take part, and all students in the band room must be actively playing an instrument to be allowed to remain in the room. (No loitering!)

Please add Thursday, September 19th to your calendars. This is the St. Clair Band Expo 2013, hosted by Ashville High School. An ad sales sheet has been placed in the files section of Yahoo Groups for your convenience. Hard copies will be available in the MHS band room. We will travel together to this evening event. Details TBA.

Camp Schedule for Friday, August 9, 2013

Band camp will dismiss at 11:45 am on Friday, August 9th to allow students an opportunity to attend and participate in the cosmic bowling event scheduled for 2:00 pm at Lightning Strikes in Trussville. Bowling sign-up forms are available in the files section of Yahoo Groups. Please turn forms in before 8:00 am Friday. To date, no forms have been received.

Students are encouraged to participate in this event. For every $10.00 per person lane reservation, $7.00 is placed into individual band student accounts. This can be used for large expenditures like band fees and spring trip payments. Concessions are available at the bowling alley. No outside food or drinks permitted.

Program/ Yearbook Photo Thursday, August 8, 6-8 pm

Reminder: Band photos take place Thursday, August 8, 6-8 pm. All students should report to the band room for roll call at 6 pm. Bring long, black socks, wear under-armor shorts and a black or navy t-shirt. Paid band shoe orders are available for pickup at the band room.

Photo order envelopes are available in the band room. The ad sale deadline has been extended for those who wish to include the band photo in your ad. Ad sales forms are still available in the band room as well.

In case of rain, and preceding any announcement to the contrary, please report to the band room for instructions.
