Marching Band Parent/Student Meeting Thursday May 2nd

All rising 9th through 12th grade band and auxiliary members and parents/guardians: Please remember the marching band informational meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30 pm in the MHS lunchroom. In addition to serving as the May meeting of the Moody Band Boosters, this is an important meeting covering all aspects of the upcoming summer band rehearsals, band camp, band fees, schedules, fundraising, and other aspects of the 2013 marching season, including plans for the 2014 spring trip.

Band Banquet May 11

The annual band banquet will be held on Saturday, May 11th from 7:00 until 10:00 pm in the MHS lunch room. All band and auxiliary members in grades 7-12 and families are invited to attend.

Seniors and their parents are free. Individuals are $10.00 each, and a discounted price of $25.00 is offered to families. Dates (including dates of senior band members) are $10.00 each and are not included in the family discount. Make all checks payable to the Moody Band Boosters.

The banquet will consist of a dessert reception, awards and recognitions, and a dance. Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of the event, including set-up on Friday and take-down on Saturday evening. Please contact Alice Freeman at 640-6945 to volunteer.

Reservation forms will be distributed from the band room and posted in the files section of the Moody Blue Devils Yahoo Group. Register at www.moodyband.org for access to the file and to group postings. Reservations are due to Dr. Sargent by Thursday, May 2nd in the band room.

Marching/Booster Meeting Schedule Change

The marching band and auxiliary parent/student meeting previously scheduled for this Tuesday, April 16th has now been rescheduled for the backup date of Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30 pm. This Tuesday's 6:30 meeting will now be used as a regular band booster meeting in the band room. Included on the agenda will be planning and committee formation for the upcoming band banquet and other items. Please plan to attend.

Cosmic Bowling Fundraiser

Friday, April 12th, is our last Cosmic Bowling Fundraiser!


Time: 7-9 PM at Lightning Strikes in Trussville.

Cost: Band students should sell reserved spots to bowl for $10 per person. This includes shoes and ball.

Deadline: All money and names must be turned in by Thursday, April 11th to reserve a spot.

Walk-ins will be able to bowl that night on a first-come, first-served basis and according to lane availability.

Students will make $7 on each spot sold for their student account. We have 320 spots to sell, and they will be sold on a first come first served basis! But if we don't have many pre-sold spots, Lightning Strikes will not hold as many lanes for us. That decision is usually made by Lightning Strikes on Wednesday after finding out how many pre-sold spots we have, so the more spots we pre-sell early in the week the more lanes they will hold for us.

Lightning Strikes has asked that no food or drinks be brought into the bowling alley, as they will be selling concession/food items. This is the way they will make their money that night!

This is a great deal, as it is usually at least $15 for Cosmic Bowling!

Please be sure all names are legible and your form is filled out completely. Turn all money and forms in to Dr. Sargent. The forms are attached.

You can email Mrs. Bennett with your reservation, but until payment is made, you are not guaranteed a spot.
