Phil Campbell HS Band Needs Our Help

As you may know, during the April 27 tornadoes, Phil Campbell High School (Franklin County) was severely damaged, including the complete desruction of their band room and the subsequent loss of their instruments. They have entered a contest to earn a grant for up to $50,000 to go toward the purchase of band instruments for their school. They have made the first cut and the elimination process begins with public voting. Please go to the following website and click on the link for voting. You can search for the school by name or by state (there are three in Alabama and two are Phil Campbell – elementary and high school – have the same band director). View the video and, if you so choose, vote for the school. Only 1 vote per IP ADDRESS per day. If someone has already voted from your school IP address, please consider voting from your home or mobile IP address. Voting closes Nov 7.

Please support your favorite school, wherever it may be.

Housing for Univ of Mobile Performing Ensemble

From Band Booster President Ronnie Adkins:

The University of Mobile’s Drum & Bugle Corp is currently on their fall tour. They will be performing at Moody High School this Thursday, October 14th during 4th block classes. Our own Nathan Dodd is a part of this ensemble. I have been asked to assist in getting the word out for help with housing. There are 25 members of the Corp who need a place to spend the night on Thursday and will leave early Friday morning to travel to their next venue.

If you would be interested in housing a couple of students in your home Thursday night, please let Mike Bowman or me know. Thank You.
