A message from interim band booster president, Ronnie Adkins:
Dear Band Parents,
The 2011-2012 school year looks to be exciting for our band students, dance line, majorettes, and color guard. You may have heard me say that I didn’t realize until I got involved how much money and effort it takes to run a band program. You may have also heard me say that it takes all of us working together to help make our children successful. It still amazes me how true these statements are and I hear new people saying the same thing.
I want to be careful here. I don’t want this email to sound whiny or critical, but I intend for it to be just the real facts. I want to thank each of you who have contributed in any way. However, we have some gaps to close. We have some set ways to help in raising funds for the band program such as concessions, poinsettia sales, and the Queen of Hearts Pageant. (We are funding the band on a shoestring at about $30,000.00 a year.) We are working on other general fund raisers. If we don’t all pitch in then we all will have to pay more or cut out going to away games, competitions, feeding kids, and many other things. Band expenses are continuing to rise and we are just trying to keep up.
1.) 2 Concession stand co-managers for home games.
2.) We need some counter repair and light painting at the concession stand before the first game on the 18th.
Needed from every family:
1.) Someone from every family to work at least one game in the concession stand.
2.) To fill out the team form and volunteer to help. (Team form available in the band room and in our Yahoo Groups link)
3.) Help with fund-raisers.
4.) Pitch in on work days.
5.) Help in any other way you can.
Football Program Ads are due. I have extended the deadline until Wednesday. We still can sell some ads. Forms are available in the band room.
