Services for Bryan Adams's Mother

Dear Moody Band,
A 2010 graduate of the Moody band program, Bryan Adams, lost his mother to cancer a few days ago. Please keep Bryan in your thoughts and prayers. Information on the service is below.-- Dr. Sargent

Funeral Services for Bryan Adams's mother – Next Wednesday, 12/29 6-7 pm visitation with service at 7pm. Memorial service. Ridout’s Trussville.

Fundraising Opportunity at Food Giant

Thursday, December 23, 2010 is our Grocery Bagging Fundraiser at Food Giant in Moody. The fundraiser will last from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Money received in the form of tips or donations will go toward band members’ individual accounts (70%) and the booster general fund (30%). The money earned may be used for band fees, the next trip, etc.

We request that band members register for no less than a 2 hour shift.

In addition, we must have at least 2 parents per shift to help supervise during the fundraiser.(If possible, also for 2 hour shifts.)

All-State Registration for 2011

Students planning to audition for all-state band should send an e-mail to brad.sargent@sccboe.org by Monday, 12/13/10 indicating your intention to audition. The band boosters will then cover your registration fee. For those who indicate an interest in auditioning but then fail to follow through with the audition process, a $10.00 reimbursement will be owed to the band boosters.

Auditions take place on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Jacksonville High School. Participants are responsible for obtaining individual transportation to the audition.

Dear Beginning Band parent or guardian:

On Tuesday, December 14, the beginning band will travel to Moody Elementary School to perform a concert program during our 2nd period exam time (8:30 am-10:00 am). To give your child permission to travel on an SCCBOE school bus to and from MES, please sign and return this form by Monday, December 13.

We need a few chaperones and some help with equipment for Tuesday as well. If you are able and willing to help, please call the band room at 640-1995 or send an e-mail to brad.sargent@sccboe.org.

I, the undersigned, do hereby grant permission for my child __________________________________ to travel with the Moody Beginning Band to Moody Elementary School on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.

A blue jacket was taken today from the band room lost-and-found bin. The rightful owner, a beginning band member, was very upset to find the jacket missing. If you took the jacket, please be honest and return it.
